Are Your Walkways Too Formal?

Walkways and driveways help guide the flow of traffic to a certain destination.

While this is a good thing, be careful how you plant along these areas.

Walkways, when lined with borders, hedges, or other plant materials, can become too formal and prominent in the landscape.

Balance this out by using enough plant materials to lessen the impact of large areas of pavement, but still allow grass, ground covers, or less formal plantings to meet the pavement in areas.

Gardening-tip:

Low Light House Plants

Many plants thrive on very little light, making them ideal for those parts of your house that are not well lit.

A couple good choices for areas without lots of light are:

Aspidistra
Dracaena
Sansevieria
Chinese Evergreen
