Are Your Walkways Too Formal?

Walkways and driveways help guide the flow of traffic to a certain destination.

While this is a good thing, be careful how you plant along these areas.

Walkways, when lined with borders, hedges, or other plant materials, can become too formal and prominent in the landscape.

Balance this out by using enough plant materials to lessen the impact of large areas of pavement, but still allow grass, ground covers, or less formal plantings to meet the pavement in areas.

Gardening-tip:

Keep that Parsley Coming

Parsley is a biennial, often grown as an annual. Plants prefer full sun, but will survive in partial shade.

Parsley can be picked fresh throughout the season, but for use in the winter, cut the leaves in the fall, and dry or freeze them.
