Growing Tips:

  • Likes full sun

  • This combination of plants does best in warm summer temperatures

  • Remove old flowers on Marigold. Pinch back to keep full

  • Plants like regular water. Keep moist but not soggy; allow soil to dry out a bit between waterings

  • Feed every two weeks with a water-soluble fertilizer. Hydrolyzed fish fertilizer mixed with kelp works wonders

  1. Ornamental Millet
    (Pennisetum glaucum 'Purple Majesty')
    Adds height and interest. Young plants are first green, with the stems and mid-rib of foliage turning purple after 8 weeks. Leaves turn dark purple when planted outside in full sun

  2. Marigold

    Warm-season annual with bright, long-lasting flowers

  4. Spilanthes
    (Spilanthes oleracea)
    Golden globes with rich red-bronze eyes perched on mounds of bronze-green foliage. A very unusual accent plant

  5. Alternanthera
    (Alternanthera dentata 'Purple Knight')
    Dark metallic leaves. The purple stems have two-toned foliage - purple on top, burgundy below

  6. Helichrysum
    (Helichrysum petiolare minus 'Silver Mist')
    Small, silvery leaves are as soft as Lamb's Ear, and they look terrific for months on end

  7. Coreopsis
    (Coreopsis grandiflora 'Early Sunrise')
    Flowers earlier than other coreposis. Has enormous long-lasting yellow flowers
