Growing Tips:

  • Likes partial to full shade

  • These plants love warm summer temperatures provided they get shade throughout the day

  • Give regular water to keep soil moist, but not soggy

  • Pinch back all plants to maintain shape and size

  • Feed every two weeks with water-soluable fertilizer. Hydrolyzed fish fertilizer mixed with kelp is great

  1. Begonia
    Abundant showy pink flowers with wing-like, glossy green leaves. Its trailing habit makes it a good choice for containers or hanging baskets

  2. Impatiens
    Comes in too many colors to list here. Great plants for shady areas

  3. Coleus
    (Coleus x hybridus 'Wizard Mosaic')
    Multicoloured leaves on very compact plants make this ideal for shady beds. Also very striking in pots or as indoor house plants. Grows to 12 inches (30 cm)

  4. Iresine
    (Iresine 'Purple Lady')
    Dark-leafed plants, grow best in a mix of sun and shade, though they will tolerate quite a bit of humidity and tend to thrive in more sun when the climate is humid. An easy to grow annual
